Once your server is setup, you can login using Windows Remote Desktop Connection, usually found in accessories (start – programs – accessories) it may be in system tools depending on your windows installation. If for some reason you do not have RDC on your machine you can install it by going to Add/Remove Software and Add Windows components. RDC is included with all Windows installations. Type in your IP then /console to always be logged in to console. Console session is 'what you would see as if you were physically in front of the server'. With the new Terminal Services release it is possible to create multiple virtual sessions using the same windows username, so if you do not use /console then you could open several sessions, and your programs that were running on other sessions will not be seen. Windows Remote Desktop is designed for simple use.

Windows Virtual Environment (VE) logon

Your Administrative Virtual Desktop logon information is as follows:

In order to logon, you will first need the IP address or host name, user name and password.

You should already have the IP address or host name of your VE. This was sent to you at signup. If you do not have the IP address then it can be identified by logging into our control panel and clicking over to the VE 'system'.

The default user name for Windows VE's is Administrator. The password was entered by the subscriber at signup. Please open a support ticket to reset the Administrator password.

How to Logon:

Windows subscribers can remote desktop to their virtual environment directly through remote desktop connection (available for Windows and Macintosh) or through a web enabled remote desktop in Virtuozzo Power Panel (VZPP). By utilizing both VZPP and Windows remote desktop as available clients, you can logon to your remote desktop from most any Internet connected computer. Whenever possible, I recommend using the built in Windows remote desktop client because it will let you share drives, printers, sound, etc..

Logon to the remote desktop with the "Remote Desktop Connection" program, already available in your windows computer.

Most windows computers have a remote desktop client already installed. You can also download updated clients from our support page. Remote desktop clients are also available for Macintosh. Please visit our support page to download the latest windows remote desktop client.

From Windows machines, start->programs->accessories->communications-> download the latest windows remote desktop client.

When the Remote Desktop Connection client runs, you will see a box like this:

Click 'options'

In the 'Computer' box, enter the IP address or host name of the VE.

Also enter 'Administrator' in the User Name box, and the password you entered at setup.

Then click the 'Local Resources' tab

Make sure 'Disk Drives' and 'Printers' are checked. This will allow you to access your local printer and disk drives in the remote desktop.

You can now opt to click the 'General' tab and save this profile. We recommend saving it on your desktop so you can access it easily.

Click 'connect' to logon. In some cases, you may need to enter your User and Password again (Administrator / what you setup)

Windows environments are setup with the Administrator password set to what you entered at signup. You can reset the Administrator password in our control panel.

If you can't see your printer then install its driver in the virtual desktop. To access your local disk drives, simply open the Windows explorer inside the virtual desktop. Your local disk drives will be mapped, allowing you to copy files to your virtual desktop. You are, of course, free to use the web browser and download/install your favorite software in the virtual desktop.

How To Install MT4 and Expert Advisor On The Virtual Server

The first thing to do is to visit your broker anduse their own custom version of MT4, and in that case you will open the virtual desktop web browser to visit your broker, download and install MT4.

If you open the windows file explorer on the virtual desktop, you will notice that your local C disk is mapped to the virtual desktop session. Simply navigate to your C drive (from the virtual desktop),and find the metatrader/experts folder. copy the entire folder to the MT4/experts folder on the virtual desktop and you are ready to go!

Two things to remember here are:

If your broker uses a special version of MT4, then you should use the web browser on the desktop to visit the broker, download and install it....

when you are done and ready to leave the computer, do not log off...instead, disconnect to keep your programs running. to disconnect, roll the mouse to the top of the screen and click the X in the yellow bar.When you logon again, you will rejoin your running session. You can also log back on from a different machine or even your windows mobile cell phone using the built in terminal service client.
